John Rohde

John is a fourth generation Australian of German origin with a strong family farming heritage. He feels a strong connection to the land and is committed to seeing country communities remain viable.

He has lived and worked across Regional South Australia - first with Australia Post and currently as manager of Trax FM in Port Pirie.

John has always maintained a strong work ethic and a passion for helping people.

Service has been at the core of his values and he has contributed in both public and community service for 30 years. John’s roles have included President of the Port Pirie Apex Club, Board Member of the Port Pirie Regional Health Service and Member of the Inaugural South Australian Community Regional Leadership Program, which helped him have a greater understanding of issues confronting communities across the State.

In public life, John was the Labor Candidate for the State seat of Frome from 2002 until 2010, member of the Country Labor Party Executive for four years and is currently a Councillor and Deputy Mayor of the Port Pirie Regional Council.

John passionately believes you can’t make a difference unless you are prepared to get in and give it your best.

With Dianah, he wants to lead change that will benefit the communities he has loved and lived in throughout his life.
